2025 Emerging Scot of the Year

Eryk Bean is an accomplished Grade 1 piper and lifelong contributor to Scottish music and culture in New England. A New Hampshire native, he owns and operates Gibson Bagpipes — the leading U.S. bagpipe manufacturer with more than 40 years of heritage — where he combines tradition with innovation to strengthen and modernize the craft. A former Pipe Sergeant for NHSCOT, Eryk has performed at major competitions including the World Pipe Band Championships and the North American Pipe Band Championships. His commitment to instrument design, education, and expanding access to piping across the country exemplifies the entrepreneurial and musical spirit at the heart of Scottish heritage. Eryk’s dedication to both performance and craftsmanship makes him an exceptional candidate for Emerging New England Scot of the Year.
