2026 New England Scot of the Year Categories:

The New England Scot of the Year is awarded to a person over 35 years old who has made an outstanding contribution to their Scottish community in the past year.

The Emerging New England Scot of the Year is awarded to a person under 35 years old who has started to make an impact on their Scottish community.

The New England Scot Lifetime Achievement is awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the New England Scottish community over their entire career.

The New England Scots Organization of the Year award is presented to a New England-based organization that has made a distinguished contribution to the Scottish community in the past year.

Nominations will only be accepted if they adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Nominations must contain both the nominator and the nominee’s email address and telephone numbers.
2. Nominations must contain a clear description of the nominee’s accomplishments and a reason why they are worthy of an award.
3. Nominations must be validated by including written references and testimony such as website extracts, news articles, letters of recommendation, and excellence in proven field.
4. Only award winners will be notified to arrange acceptance of the award. Nominators will also be informed.
5. Winners will be announced on our website on December 5th, 2026. Before submitting any nomination, please ensure you have provided all required information. Scots in New England does not have the capacity to conduct further research on candidates.

Nominations are welcome from organizations and individuals over the age of 18 years based in New England. Nominees should be based in New England or have a strong New England connection. The nomination process is open to all eligible individuals and organizations except members of the judging panel. The judges decisions are final.

In the interest of transparency and fairness, board members, award committee members, sponsors and final judges will not be eligible for nomination. We will recognize their support and efforts in other ways.
