Exploring Scottish Connections of the Book of Kells

January 30 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

£6.00
Book of Kells

Dr Victoria Thompson Whitworth will present her latest research exploring the origins of the Book of Kells and its potential ties to Pictish eastern Scotland. Her findings challenge the traditional belief that the manuscript was created on Iona, raising intriguing questions about Scotland’s role in early medieval art and history. Joining her will be Master Craftsman Thomas Keyes, who will share insights from his work recreating medieval manuscript techniques, offering a deeper understanding of this extraordinary period.

The event will be held in person in Edinburgh and will also be live-streamed worldwide for those who wish to attend virtually via Zoom.

This event provides a unique opportunity to engage with groundbreaking research that celebrates Scotland’s and cultural significance.
