JULY 18, 2025: Our thanks to Becky, Steve, Jeff, Lynn, Traci, Heidi, and Dave for hosting our booth at the Maine Celtic Celebration along the beautiful harbor of Belfast, Maine. Our info exhibit / tent was well received and had a constant flow of interested folks from Maine and around the county. AUGUST 16 & 17, 2025: The Maine Ulster-Scots Project had a very successful weekend at the 46th annual Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival in Windsor, Maine. With our Family Information tent, we had the opportunity to help families identify their possible Clans and direct them to the many Clan tents that attended the games. In our MUSP tent, we introduced folks to Maine’s Scotch-Irish heritage and explained the history and importance of the early Scots-Irish along the coast of Maine. We thank our steadfast regular tent mates – Becky, Karen, Steve, Peter, Heidi, & Dave and we especially thank new volunteers Connor, Julie L., Alisia, Todd, Jon, and Dawn for spending part of their day(s) with us. Our thanks and appreciation also go to the Saint Andrews Society of Maine for organizing this wonderful and treasured event that we all look forward to each year. AUGUST 23, 2025: Maine Ulster-Scots Project President, Becky Miller (and daughter) hosted our tent/booth at the Quechee Scottish Games in Vermont to continue the mission of sharing our Maine Scots-Irish heritage with event attendees. Great job Becky and thank you Julie P.D., Deb, and Steve G. for helping out and representing us so well.

“America from the Ashes: Revolution and the Burning of Falmouth”
October 18, 2025 Portland, Maine.“America from the Ashes: Revolution and the Burning of Falmouth” The public was invited to step into the fire that forged a nation. On October 18, 1775, the British Navy bombarded the town of Falmouth—now Portland—setting it ablaze and igniting revolutionary fervor across the colonies. 250 years later, folks had the opportunity to walk the path of history with “America from the Ashes”, a family-friendly trail experience that brought this pivotal moment to life. The Maine Ulster-Scots Project partnered with First Parish Church of Portland, Greater Portland Landmarks, Maine Historical Society, Osher Map Library, Spirits Alive at Eastern Cemetery, and the Tate House Museum in a full day of discovery, remembrance, and community as Portland commemorated the fire that helped fuel the revolution.LEARN MORE
