2024 Lifetime Achievement Award

This prestigious award celebrates individuals who have dedicated their careers to supporting Scottish communities in New England. This year’s honoree, Mark Bamforth, has been a transformative force within the Scottish-American diaspora. A native of Glasgow, Mark’s contributions span philanthropy, mentorship, and cultural preservation. Through initiatives like the Saltire Foundation USA and innovative ventures in the life sciences, Mark has empowered future generations to thrive while fostering enduring ties between Scotland and the U.S.

His dynamic leadership and generosity are an inspiration to us all. We look forward to supporting the work Mark does for the the Saltire Foundation USA and helping grow the program within the New England area and beyond.

Mark and his wife Morag (pictured above) were unfortunately travelling in Scotland during the 2024 Award Ceremony. We were very lucky to catch them a couple of days earlier in the British Consulate in Boston and capture a short video which was played on the awards night. Both were greatly missed, but were definitely there in spirit!
