Scotland Win Opening World Cup Game!
June 13, 2026. A date that Scottish football fans will not forget in a hurry. At Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Scotland beat Haiti 1-0 to claim their first World Cup victory in 36 years. John McGinn was the hero, his deflected strike just before the half hour sparking wild scenes in the stands. Scott McTominay had already rattled the post before McGinn pounced, and it was a moment the Tartan Army had been waiting a very long time for.
The Goal:
Haiti pushed hard for an equalizer and made it a nervy finish, but Scotland held on. The result also put them top of Group C after Brazil and Morocco drew 1-1 earlier in the day.
For those of us watching from New England, it was a night to savor. Scotland next face Morocco at Gillette Stadium on June 19. The adventure continues!
